At Brisbane Economic Development Agency (BEDA), we champion sustainable economic growth, ensuring that today's opportunities and lifestyles are preserved for future generations.
Being able to position Brisbane as a sustainable, low carbon and climate resilient tourism destination with globally recognised credentials, such as achieving UN-Habitat SDG Cities Gold Certification and being a Top 40 city in the Global Destination Sustainability Index, undoubtably offers more for visitors, investors, and business.
To help achieve this outcome, BEDA has a dedicated internal Sustainability Working Group, champions a Sustainability Collective through the Better Brisbane Alliance, and works collaboratively with government and private sector partners to support, promote and enable improvements to sustainable practices across the Brisbane region. This results in a competitive advantage for the city now and into the future.
If your business or event is interested in adopting more sustainable practices, please explore our Sustainability Hub for a collection of resources to support your sustainability journey.
The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) guide the global transition towards greener, more inclusive economies and resilient societies. BEDA actively aligns with the following goals to foster sustainable development.
